I had so much fun on Saturday at the Kansas Barn Sale! (See FB photos here.) We drove out to a beautiful farm near Hesston, Kansas where the organizers, Beki and Stacee, offered dozens of amazing art and vintage booths as well as live music and all kinds of delicious food. I made a purchase . . . a gorgeous pink hand-crocheted scarf made by one of the vendors, my friend Tamara of Crochet with Tamara (click here to see her posting about it on her blog) . . . aaaaaaaaand the pattern was designed by my friend Jill of Nice Piece of Work (click here to see some other versions)! How cool is THAT??? It was chilly enough to wear it around at the sale, and I got lots of lovely compliments on it. Thank you, Tamara and Jill! ♥

Oh how cute!!! That is really adorable!!
Thank you! Tamara and Jill are SO talented!
It looks really pretty.
Thank you, Simona! I love the design, and I think that pink is so feminine. 🙂
Beautiful work!
Thank you, Elizabeth . . . and I know you recognize such talent because you’re a master crocheter yourself! 🙂
Such a pretty scarf!
I agree, Theresa . . . I just love it! 🙂
Sounds like you had a wonderful day!
It WAS! I just love having a little road-trip adventure on an autumn Saturday! 🙂
It’s gorgeous in the pinks. And NOTHING beats pink, ever!!! I’ve just been scrolling through the pics of the sale – going to have to wipe down my keyboard now, been drooling so much. Would have given my eye teeth to have been there and visited with you and Tamara 🙂
Oh, I know! That would have been perfect, Jill! It was such a fun atmosphere, and people were carrying purchased items to their cars by the ARMLOADS! 🙂 And thank you for such a beautiful design . . . I’m so going to enjoy wearing my new scarf, both for its loveliness and for the friendship behind it. Hugs, Katherine
Hi Katherine! It was so nice to see your smiling face when you walked into my booth. I loved the look on your face as I wrapped that pink scarf around your neck, it looked like it was made just for you. Thank you for coming out and I loved meeting your husband as well. We will plan to have coffee real soon. Love and Hugs, Tamara
It was such a fun day . . . and I wouldn’t have known about it if not for you! We’ll definitely be coming again next year . . . and I’ll be wearing my beautiful scarf! 🙂 Have a wonderful (and relaxing . . . you deserve it!) week, dear Tamara! 🙂
I forgot to tell you . . . I showed your work in my previous post, too: https://pillowsalamode.wordpress.com/2013/10/04/dessert-triple-play/ 🙂
The connection is amazing. I remember when Tamara “road tested” the scarf. 🙂
Yes, isn’t that fun??? We were so surprised to learn we live in the same city! I can’t wait to sign up for Tamara’s crochet lessons at the yarn shop downtown! 🙂
And, to think I missed this fun event by a couple of weeks. Shucks. MA has a huge two-day weekend vintage sale that draws from the New England area and is a huge success. This sounds like a wonderful sale and nice family event.
Maybe you can coordinate next year’s trip with the Barn Sale day and we can hang out together! 🙂
Beautiful scarf! Did you meet your friends through the blogisphere or did you know them before? (Just curious because I’m enjoying the connections I’ve been making in the blogging world!)
I met both Jill and Tamara here on WordPress . . . then, through Jill across the ocean, I learned that Tamara lives in the same city I live in! So we met for coffee, and the rest is history! 🙂
Cool!
Looks absolutely lovely!!!!
Thank you! I saw two handmade soap booths there, too, and I thought of you! 🙂
O’ really! There are lots of soapers out there:)
You are a busy little bee! All is very good!
Autumn outings are always such fun! 🙂
Very pretty !! Beautiful hand made 🙂
Handmade IS the best, isn’t it? 🙂
Yes hand made always it is the Best 🙂
Pretty in pink! (My favorite color.)
Mine, too! 🙂 And your “choose your own adventure” post today . . . absolutely brilliant! I can’t wait to get a cup (er . . . maybe a pot!) of coffee this evening and try it out! 🙂
How lovely! I love what you created from that cute dress! Something to be cherished for many more years to come!
Thank you! 🙂
