Some family members are starting a therapeutic riding business and recently had an open house/barbeque at their stable and arena. I offered to make the desserts, and I had a fun baking day! Here are three for which I managed to snap photos. The first one is a family recipe from my mom-in-law. The other two were first-time tries clipped from magazines and tweaked a bit. (Do you do that, too???) But they were all yummy! Oh, and the GORGEOUS doily was a gift from my sweet friend Tamara of Crochet with Tamara. Thank you again, Tamara! ♥ P.S. You can click on each dessert name for a printable recipe!

Like the look of the lemonade cake.
I REALLY love lemon, so I was excited to try this one out, and it didn’t disappoint! 🙂
That Lemon cake looks soooooooo good! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Mmm . . . it waaaaaaaas!!! 🙂
What a great idea for a business for your family to start. Wishing them luck with it.
The desserts look yummy. The doily is gorgeous to.
Thank you! I’m so happy for them!

Thank you, dear Mtetar! 🙂
You’re welcome Katherine, and it’s my pleasure always. Blessings, Mtetar
Oh my goodness, must try them all!! Have a great day!
Enjoy! 🙂
Mmm… The lemonade cake looks exceptional!
It really was . . . tangy, yet sweet . . . a perfect combination! 🙂
My dear, it all looks so scrumptious!!
Thank you! I don’t bake too much anymore, so it was fun to have an excuse to try all these out! 🙂
I’m sure it was!
Those desserts look wonderful – and good luck to your friends with their therapeutic riding business. Everyone feels better around horses. 🙂
I’ll share your good wishes! My husband Dave is a horse person, too. I’m a little intimidated by them (even though I grew up on a farm!) but I really think they’re beautiful animals.
What a wonderful business to be in – helping others and working with horses. And, I would love to access your recipes but I use a Mac I can’t open the documents. Do you have them pinned or somewhere else I could look? Thanks for sharing.
Judy, feel free to email me at k_scraper@hotmail.com and I can paste the recipes in the body of my return email. 🙂
They all look decadent – I try to stay away from the sweets but they don’t stay away from me!
Ha . . . that’s a good way to put it!!! 🙂
yum, yum and…..yum!
Three yums for three recipes . . . a perfect reply! 🙂
How wonderful for your family members. Just being around horses is therapeutic. Riding must be even better. The desserts look luscious. I’ll have a look at the recipes. Yes, I have clipped out recipes from the paper too. Isn’t it fun!
I don’t ride anymore, but I like watching other people do it! 🙂 I hope you enjoy the recipes, Marlene!
The cakes look delicious and the plates remind me of dishes my Grandma used to create during her ceramics classes. 🙂
The little plate was a gift from a Thanksgiving guest last year. I put it away with the fall decorations that same weekend to decorate for Christmas, so when I got it out this year it was like getting the present all over again! 🙂
Ha! Not only do I try recipes for the first time for important events, but I ALSO have to tweak them! They look great.
Yay!!! I’m glad I’m not the only one! 🙂
Great looking cake! Thanks for posting the recipes!
You’re very welcome! I get so many great recipes from your blog, so it’s nice to be able to share back! 🙂
They are all delicious looking but I LOVE the plates! Just love them!
That sweet little plate was a gift from one of our Thanksgiving guests last year! I just love it, too! 🙂
Congrats to your family’s new business. Your recipes look scrumptious! Love chocolate sheet cake and, of course, anything with peanut butter. 🙂 Yes, I tweak recipes. Sometimes I’ll take the best of two recipes and combine them.
I’m glad I’m not the only one, Anny! 🙂 And we definitely share a love for chocolate and peanut butter! 🙂
All my life I have loved chocolate! And, peanut butter is next!
I totally agree! 🙂
Hi Katherine!
Thank you so much for the sweet compliments on my doily. I did read this post but hadn’t had a chance to comment on it yet. I always get lots of views when you link my blog to your posts and that’s always exciting. I also have received lots of followers from your blog as well. I loved seeing my doily underneath all your wonderful desserts.
Love and Hugs, Tamara
