Do you ever squeal with delight when you see a blog post? Of course you do! 🙂 That’s what happened when I saw the DIY Poppy Teapot from the lovely Natalie of La gang à Nat. Seriously, go look at it now right HERE. Isn’t it gorgeous??? And all I could think of was that I had a plain white sugar bowl and creamer that I’ve used for YEARS, and wouldn’t they look LOVELY with Natalie’s poppy a-la-mode? So I emailed her to make sure I could copy her design and post it here, and she said YES! (She’s VERY nice!) The only difference is that I used Sharpies since I already had them on hand and then baked the items in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes to set the color. I just LOVE them . . . thank you, dear Natalie! ♥

Those are lovely!!! They would make great gifts too. 😉
Thank you, Laurie! I’m definitely not a painter, but Natalie made this design look easy . . . and it WAS! 🙂
Oh Katherine!!! Those are so lovely! Great job on the poppies!!! I am so happy that my little project inspired you… that’s what blogging is all about, isn’t it? I get so much inspiration from others online so it’s wonderful to hear (and see!) that I inspire others as well!
Keep up the good work my friend!
Love,
Natalie

Thank you again, Natalie! These just make me smile!!! 🙂
I LOVE poppies…and I guess I’ll just have to make one of these sets! So cute!
Yay! They’re REALLY easy if you look at the steps on Natalie’s blog . . . she definitely made me feel like I could do it! 🙂
Very Nice Katherine one don’t have to pay too much for Pottery Class/Ceramic Class. Be Blessed, Mtetar
Thank you, Mtetar! 🙂
You’re welcome, Katherine! Be Blessed, Mtetar
Absolutely lovely! I have always wanted to try Sharpies on a coffee cup, but never have. Now after seeing this, I might want to give it a try! You did an awesome job on these! Your morning coffee won’t ever be the same again!
Yes, I’d been wanting to try that, too! So this was the perfect excuse! 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you come up with now! 🙂
Thanks Katherine for sharing her beautiful site. I like her sewing projects. Be Blessed, Mtetar
I do, too! She’s definitely one creative lady!!! 🙂
I’m going to have to ask the dumb question here…..do you mean Sharpies as in the brand of permanent colour marker pens? So you just drawn straight on with no prep and then bake them?…….sounds too simple and too good to be true!
Yes, those Sharpies! I’ve been seeing lots of Pinterest and blog posts about it and had wanted to try, and it works great! I’m sure I won’t put these in the dishwasher (just in case . . . ) but handwashing hasn’t affected the color at all. Good luck! 🙂
awesome! I am so going to try this 🙂
So cute!!!!
Thank you!!! 🙂
What a fab tip re sharpies. The possibilities are running amok in my mind. My son is quite a talented artist and I had no idea one could do this. We have a saying for your set “squeal inducingly cute!” 🙂
Awww . . . I LOVE that saying! 🙂 Type “sharpie mugs” in the search bar on Pinterest and you’ll see all SORTS of fun designs! Can’t wait to see what you and your son make! 🙂
I’m inspired! Is that all you do? Plan white ceramic ware … sharpies … and bake?
Yes! I’ve seen tons of these on Pinterest and other blogs . . . and it’s really that easy! I HAVE read that a few people have had trouble with the designs fading after putting them in the dishwasher, so I’m going to handwash just in case. I hope you get to try it! 🙂
Lovely! What a great way to add a pop of color!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Linda! They do make me smile!!! 🙂
Those are ADORABLE! If only I could draw 😉
I can’t draw, either! But the way Natalie shows the steps (kind of like those “How to Draw A . . .” books) it was SO easy . . . just some shapes, lines, and dots. You could play around with crayons on paper first to try it! 🙂
Very pretty! Good job!
Thank you, Elizabeth! 🙂
so cute!
Thank you, Emily! 🙂
love it!
Thank you, Marilyn! 🙂
Adorable….love this DIY project, might have to make some of my own really soon! Thanks for sharing!!
Yay! I can’t WAIT to see what you make!!! 🙂
What a wonderful DIY project–I would snatch this off the shelf if I was lucky enough to find it at a thrift store! We are always impressed with your wonderful, creative projects.
Awww . . . thank you! (And I’m happy you didn’t say you would write about them in your funny Friday feature if you found them at a thrift store!) 🙂
Reblogged this on Living like an Erythrocyte and commented:
White kitchen things are easy to find but so plain and usually ugly. Finding a pattern that suits you and isn’t ugly is practically impossible too. Here is a very good solution.
THANK YOU! That’s really nice. I hope you find something in your house you can draw on . . . it’s really fun! 🙂
Beautiful! 🙂
Thank you, Sarah! 🙂
My favorite flower!
I love them, too! There’s something about red that’s just so cheery! 🙂
Beautiful, Well Done !!
Thank you, Izabel! 🙂

Thank you, Boomdee! Super fun!!! 🙂
Love them!!!
Thank you, Antionette! 🙂 (And I spelled your name right this time!) 🙂
I love the way she has her tutorial. great find! and as always thanks for sharing!
You’re very welcome, Pam! And I agree about the tutorial . . . seeing the painting one little step at a time really made it look doable! 🙂
How lovely! I had made a dish with sharpies and bake in the oven to have all the colors come off… Now my soap dish is all white again 😦 what did you do?
I don’t know, Josee! Maybe it depends on the Sharpies, the glass, and the glaze??? I’m not going to put mine in the dishwasher, but so far they’re holding up to washing by hand just fine. Fingers crossed!!! (But we should probably just get the markers Natalie has and then we wouldn’t have to worry, right?) 🙂
Right 😉
gorgeous, I’m going shopping for sharpies and crockery!
Have fun!!!!!! 🙂
Yes! Yes! Yes! I’m squealing right now. Thank for the eye candy!!!
