When Linny J Creations posted last fall about the upcoming Nancy Drew fabric at The Fat Quarter Shop, I was in! I bought my first ever charm pack just so I could see a tiny sample of everything. Thanks to inspiration from Feathered Nest Studio, these fun little designs are now a set of 24 coasters. It was so easy . . . just stitch two squares right sides together along with a square of quilt batting (leaving a small opening for turning), trim the corners, turn, and topstitch. We’re having a B-I-G family get-together at our house in June (more on that to come!), so I’m all ready in the coaster department! P.S. The beautiful basket is from 1840 Farm Mercantile. ♥

I love Nancy Drew too and the coasters are an excellent idea for charms! Thanks!
This fabric is just so much fun! I hope you get your hands on some, Julie! 🙂
Probably not too soon. I just got my hands on some other beautiful fabric. Budget constraints and all.
I certainly understand that! And I’m trying to use up what I already have . . . but luckily I spent this $10 before I made that resolution! 🙂
Ha Ha! I’ve been trying to use up my stash too, but if it was only $10……. 😉
Glad I could inspire! 🙂 Your coasters look great.
Thank you again, Jennet! I just love them and it’s a fun way to be able to see all the cute fabrics anytime I want. 🙂
Now that’s fun……
🙂
Fabulous! I loved Nancy Drew growing up. 🙂
I did, too! My sister and I each checked out our limit of books at the library every week and read our own and then each other’s . . . such great memories! 🙂
I just found out our library limits the kids books to 3 at a time. I used to stagger out with 12 at a time!
I have no idea what I could use it for but I NEED some Nancy Drew fabric!! I can’t tell you the countless hours I spent reading all about Nancy and her adventures, wishing I could solve mysteries, drive a convertible and have a cute boyfriend named Ned 😉
I KNOW! She was one of the first “strong” girl role models I remember reading . . . well, except for Jo in Little Women! 🙂 I also got a yard of my two favorite swatches, so I’m going to make tote bags and fill them with ND books for two girls in the family who are at just the right age to start getting hooked on this fabulous character. 🙂
Oh, I see a great project for next year’s craft camp! A “mystery” theme dinner and activities with Nancy Drew fabric aprons for girls!
W-O-W . . . how perfect is THAT??? Love it, Darilyn! 🙂
Gosh, I grew up on Nancy Drew – these are great!
I did, too, Louise! So I was SUPER excited to find out about these adorable fabrics! 🙂
That’s really neat! Nancy has always been one of my favorite characters. Their baskets are also so pretty!
I agree . . . to both! 🙂 People’s creativity always warms my heart! 🙂
WOW, I need to get some sunglasses on, LOL Pretty and Bright!
There are so many of us who grew up reading Nancy Drew Mysteries!! Grand summer days! You had the perfect use for that charm pack and, I’m sure, they will be the beginnings of many a conversation! Hugs, D
Thank you, Doreen! 🙂

You’re very welcome, Stacy! I can see you making something SUPER-DUPER with this fabric for those cute girls of yours! 🙂

Ooohhh . . . now I REALLY wish you lived next door! I could be your assistant! 🙂
Q My mom got me hooked on Nancy Drew. She still had her books for the 1930’s! Big, blue with yellow-orange title. Memories! I have to find that fabric. My daughter and I love to play the Nancy Drew mystery games on the computer. Between the two of us, we have all of them. LOL!
What fun! I love it when a special fabric brings us so many wonderful memories . . . and you’re busy making new ones, too! 🙂
These are great and perfect for your upcoming entertaining.
Thank you, Kerri! 🙂
Absolutely LOVE IT!!! 🙂

Thank you! I hope you’ll get a chance to make something with this fun fabric! 🙂
Love your coasters and the fabric! Got hooked on Nancy in 4th grade. My best friend and I would always look for “footprints” or “clues.” We SO wanted a mystery to fall in our lap just like Nancy!
I did, too! I tried turning an old newspaper I found in the yard into a mystery, but I got in trouble when I started digging in the grass for . . . who knows what? 🙂
I’m a huge fan of Nancy Drew, but my Mom is an even bigger fan. She is collecting first editions of the Nancy Drew books…and I just know she would love these coasters. Thanks for sharing, Katherine!
You’re very welcome, Lauren! And I wish I could meet your mom! We sound like kindred spirits. 🙂
OMG these are fantastic! And so affordable! My Mum would love these…I may have to remember this for her birthday…Thanks for sharing!
You’re very welcome, Hannah! 🙂
Fabulous! Nancy Drew brings back childhood memories, what a neat idea making them into coasters, you can never have enough coasters thats for sure, mine always disappear with my 5 year old, he loves to hide them!!
We’ll have lots of little ones around at the family get-together, so they may have fun hiding these, too! 🙂
They are too cute! I have fond memories of reading Nancy Drew when I was younger, seems I’m not the only one 🙂
Thank you! And now I want to go check out some ND books to reread! 🙂
Too cute! I love Nancy Drew!
She’s one amazing super sleuth, that’s for sure! 🙂
these are fun Katherine! 🙂 they look very nice!
Thank you, Ingrid! 🙂
I have seen wonderful fabric in my favourite quilt store reflective of the Purple Hat society but this Nancy Drew fabric is totally new to me. I loved Nancy Drew when I was young and had all of the books in the series at that time which I still have in storage today. Thanks for bringing back such fond memories! ~Thea
You’re very welcome! It’s just too fun not to share! 🙂

Thank you! It was definitely a great fabric find! 🙂
Great idea!
As I also have a reunion this summer, will be on the hunt for appropriate fabric.

What fun . . . I can’t wait to see what you make! 🙂
What female on earth doesn’t like Nancy Drew? When I was a girl I read every Nancy Drew book I could get my hands on. Love this theme!
I can’t wait to introduce my two oldest granddaughters to Nancy Drew on their next birthdays with a ND tote bag full of books! 🙂
I just love Nancy Drew, and the old artwork for the books is such fun! What a neat idea.
I agree! It would be fun to have fabric for ALL the books we loved from childhood, wouldn’t it! 🙂
