I Can’t Thank You Enough . . .

Standard

Miranda's Scarf. . . for all the kind comments, wishes, and prayers you sent our way after my last post.  I keep being amazed at the love and care you so freely share, and I’m determined to pay it forward every chance I get.

We’re home now after spending many treasured hours with our family.  So, as Vida would want, I’m ready to go back to “making stuff” and sharing about other people I admire who do the same.

One of my resolutions this year is to learn to crochet, and I was ever more inspired while watching my sweet daughter-in-law Tiffany (who JUST learned how!) finish this adorable scarf for cutie Miranda last night while we were all piled into our hotel room chatting.  The Bernat Pipsqueak yarn is about the softest thing I’ve ever felt, and I LOVE how it designed itself as she worked.

Thank you to Tiffany for all the tips and to Miranda for modeling. And please watch for a new series of Shop Love! posts while I travel to attend a conference for a few days and then catch up on some projects of my own! ♥

  1. I’ve missed seeing your little red headed gravatar popping up, it’s so lovely to see you back. Your Vida would have loved the sharing of her embroidery on your blog and to see you back to creating. I hope it brings you lots of comfort. Jen x

  2. You are so creative and will find many ways to keep your lovely Vida alive in all the beautiful things you do and give. Your generous heart will come back a thousand fold! Hugs and blessings, Doreen

  3. The scarf looks so cozy! I know you’re going to crochet some amazing projects this year…. I’m glad to hear that your time spent with family was treasured. I thought this was a beautifully composed line that you wrote: “So, as Vida would want, I’m ready to go back to “making stuff” and sharing about other people I admire who do the same.” I trust that your projects will be a great outlet for you as you continue to mourn her loss, but also celebrate her life. Hugs.

    • Thank you, Kerri. She IS a cutie, and super-sweet, too.:) We had LOTS of little ones around, and they definitely kept everything in perspective. I know Vida was looking upon all of them with a huge smile on her face!

  4. Hi Katherine, I was sad to hear about your recent loss, but I just had to say that you should definitely learn to crochet. It’s a really creative craft and so easy to learn. Plus, whenever I’ve had hard times, I’ve always found comfort in expressing myself (and distracting myself!) with crafting. I hope you do find comfort in something. And just let me know if you need any advice on how to crochet – it wasn’t long ago that I learned so I remember how it felt! Take care, Becky x

    • That is so sweet, Becky! I really love all the crochet projects my blogging friends make, so I know I’ll enjoy it, too. And it looks like it’s portable . . . I like that idea! 🙂 Thank you for your kind thoughts.

  5. Welcome back. And hope you are alright.
This young lady is adorable. The scarf looks gorgeous on her. You will be busy crocheting soon 🙂

  6. Glad you are back 🙂 Just learning myself, it is so much fun, I love watching videos on YouTube. I can’t wait to see what you make!

  7. I’ve been working backwards to catch up and had to go back to your previous one. I was very sorry to read about your mother-in-law. It sounds like you had a kindred spirit in her and have many fond memories of her, not to mention crafty things she made that bring back memories. She was loved and will be remembered. 🙂
