In my spare moments this week, I’ve been standing at the kitchen island turning the scrapbook paper circles I cut out on our recent road trip into garland for my class reunion this weekend. The first string I made was plain blue and gold, but I decided to have fun with this one and add some designs. Oh, and I also found some pretty blue and gold fabrics for the tables. It seems like only yesterday that we were wearing these colors for our high school activities! But I love “now” WAY more, don’t you? β₯

Thank you! I know I’ll have a fun weekend seeing all my “old” friends! π
Oh, my — these are lovely!
“Spare moments” ? You’re such an inspiration for procrastinating moi…
Thank you! π I just love “making stuff,” that’s all! π
These turned out great!! I love the added patterns!
Thank you! π I think they’ll be a festive touch. And it’s ALWAYS fun to find an excuse to go to the scrapbook paper aisle at Michaels (since I don’t scrapbook). π
Very cheerful looking π have a great reunion π
Thank you! I’m excited to see my long-lost friends! π
The colors brought me back to my own high school days, Have a fun time this weekend!
Yes, I think blue and gold are popular school colors! Mine is Chaparral High in Anthony, KS . . . where is yours?
Pinole Valley High in Pinole, California. Along the east shore of San Francisco Bay. I now live in Connecticut, a long way off from where I started.
You do!!! West Redding, Connecticut is the home of The Institute of Children’s Literature and I went there for training when I became an instructor several years ago. It’s such a beautiful part of the country! π
The first time my brother came to visit here, he went home and told his grandchildren that we live in a jungle! With all the green trees and California is so brown all summer long, its a shock for them to see so much green.
I live in the southeast corner, a couple of miles from the Long Island Sound. Connecticut has been home for two/thirds of my life now, I like it here.
Very cool! And yes, NOW is indeed way better!
Thank you, Karen! I love the age I am now! π
So many possibilities with this.
I agree! My husband has a *landmark* birthday coming up next spring so I think I’ll save them to use at his party, too! π
Your tables will be amazing! Great garland. π
Thank you! It will be a fun event, I’m sure! π
Pretty garlands!!
Thank you! π
Beautiful…you are so creative!
Aren’t you a sweetie! Thank you! It was really fun to make! π
Beautiful and fun! Enjoy your reunion.
Thank you! I know it will be a fun weekend! π
I just love those colors and your artwork is gorgeous! Enjoy the reunion.
Thank you, Kelli! π
I can’t wait to have a party, that’s cute Katherine!
Thank you! Heading out in a few minutes! π
My school colors were blue and yellow as well. It looks awesome!
Fun! Let me know if you want to borrow them! π
Look at you! That is awesome!
Thank you! I just got home from the reunion. We had so much fun! And the garland was a big hit! Now everyone wants to start meeting every year instead of every ten years, so I’ll be getting lots of use from it! π
Great idea! I’ve made cards with triangular garland, but I like the look of the half circles, too…and I have a small circle punch that would make it so much easier! π
I know!!! I need to get some “equipment” one of these days!!! π
