Although I found this intriguing lace belt tutorial by Toni of Make It Perfect quite awhile ago, I hadn’t tried it yet . . . until my gift of lace inspired me to hop to it! Along with the lace, I used a strip of the denim from the tote bag in the same post and a strip of the floral cloth ribbon from my spiral zipper wristlet. I made a few adjustments to the instructions based on the widths of the materials I had at hand, but it was just as fun and easy as Toni said. I can’t wait to make more! β₯

How cool is that! And you used my favorite lace π
Thank you! And that lace IS so pretty! π
Beautiful! Wish I could sew! You are very talented!
Thank you! π But this was so easy . . . just straight stitching. π Your paper designs are so lovely, too! π
I love that it is reversible. Great to take on a trip. Two looks one belt. Great sewing! Enjoy the day! π
Thank you! And that’s a great point about a travel belt! π Have a fun weekend! π
You also! π
You had me at reversible.
I made a few last summer for my Shop some with Linen and Lace and some with various other fabrics….but didn’t think of Jeans!!! They look great
LOL! A girl’s dream word! π
I never thought of making belts, great idea thanks. You could make great kids ones too.
I LOVE that idea! And little ones would LOVE getting to choose which “side” to wear that day! π
This is really cool. I can see doing the same thing for purse straps.
Wow . . . I LOVE that idea! Thank you!!! π
I love everything about this belt!!!!
Beth
Thank you, Beth! I know you have tons of remnants and scraps, so you can run with it! π They take less than an hour to make, too! π
Your work is inspiring! I really need to get a sewing machine already.
PS – I’ve just nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award! You can choose to accept or decline but I wanted to let you know how great I think your blog is. Though I can see from your side bar that you already got this one. Consider it double flattery!
That is SO sweet of you! To show my appreciation, I’ve put a big THANK YOU on the *lovely* button you gave me in my sidebar . . . plus, when readers click on it, it links back to you! Thanks a million! And I really enjoy your blog, too! π
I’m not a belt lover (hate things around my waist) but this is just lovely – very professionally finished! Love the detail on the tongue (the end that goes through the buckle) mnd I’m always interested in lace. Thank you for another lovely idea!
Thank you for the lovely compliments! π I finished the ends a bit differently than in the tutorial (turned them inside instead of turning them under) so it would look the same on both sides. I haven’t worn it yet, though . . . it may end up being a gift to one of the girls in the family. π
Love this! Maybe I’ll make some belts for myself now!
You are AWESOME! I have a ton of belts from the 80s that were my moms when she was a lot skinnier than I am. I thought I could use them for a purse, or an ipad cover… THANK YOU for the inspiration. I have a few projects to finish first, but Ill be sure to share them when I’m done. SO AWESOME! Thank you again!
Yay! I’m really going to enjoy following your blog! π
Pretty! π
Thank you, Danielle! π
Thank you for following! I love your bit about the dove and the pillow! I’m following too π
Thank you! π It’s so nice to have a new blogging friend! π
