This project looked SO cute and easy that I just had to try it! Visit Dreampatch for my original inspiration (via Pinterest, of course!). I made all of these in an hour or so . . . but most of that time was spent enjoying sorting through my grandmother’s vintage buttons. We have LOTS of girls in our family now, so it will be fun giving them away! β₯

I can think of a sassy redhead with long hair who would LOVE some button hair bands!
Me, too! And you know I NEVER come to lunch or coffee empty-handed! π xoxo
I love these! I wish I had a box full of vintage buttons to customise! Such a clever idea! π
Some of my friends are finding them at yard sales or thrift shops . . . but I’ll admit I’ll be sad when mine are all gone. π
Congratulations! You have been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award. Please visit Grandmother Musings to pick up your award. Enjoy!
Oh, thank you! How kind! The beautiful button on my sidebar that you gave me includes a big THANK YOU to you (plus, when you click on the button, it links back to you!) as a token of my appreciation. And keep up the great work on your blog! Thank you again! π Best, Katherine
Thanks, Katherine. I am honored. Have a great day!

Cute! I can hardly wait for a granddaughter to make these for! (Hmm, maybe for my nieces?) I have some fun buttons I could use, just need to pick up some hair elastics! π
Yes, your nieces! π And isn’t it fun to find something with only two “ingredients” that are so easy to find??? Have fun . . . can’t wait to see them! π

Very cute and original!!!
Very cute! My Grandma has the largest selection of buttons and I can’t lie, I inherited the love and now have my own huge collection! And I can’t even give them away, we want to keep them all! Love this idea, I was doing some work with buttons last fall and they are really fun to make stuff with!

Thank you! I love making things for my family and being able to say, “Oh, and this button belonged to Grandma Leona.” It makes a small gift a real treasure, and I know it would make her happy, too. π Your blog is lovely and I’m enjoying following your posts and great photos! π
These are fabulous, I’m hoping to snap up some vintage buttons on my op-shop travels.
Ooohhh . . . what fun!!! Can’t wait to see your treasures! π
Thanks for liking my blog! It made me discover yours! These button hairbands are amazing. I cant wait to try these and read the rest of your posts.
Thank you! You’ll have fun making some of your own. π And welcome! π
How cute!! I love this!
Thank you!!! Isn’t it fun when quick, easy, and cute all come together at the same time??? π
Yes, indeed! And when I saw this on your blog, I instantly knew just what to do with some wayward buttons. I’ll let you know if I wear any for photos in the future! π
What a wonderful idea. I have lots of old cute buttons, a niece and several grandnieces. Those could be fun to make. Thanks for the inspiration.
You’re very welcome! You’ll have as much fun making them as they’ll have wearing them! π Can’t wait to see! π
Great idea…I need my hair being a little bit longer so I can try it π
Me, too! π But it will be fun to see them on everyone else. π
Super Cute!

Oh, thank you! And they’ll be so handy for little gifts, too! π
Exactly!

It is funny seeing these my cousin was just telling me to use the balls off the ponytail holders to make these instead of discarding them. I have tried button bobby pins though. Again great ideas.
Thank you! They’re so easy and fun! π
