After adding pins to the backs of some of my road trip flowers, I needed a place to store/display them while they’re waiting to become gifts and one of my World Market bargain bin placemats works perfectly! I simply stitched two ribbon loops on the back of the placemat, pinned on the flowers, and hung it on my sewing room wall. I love how bright and cheery it looks! What a great idea! One of these days, I’ll have to take pictures of my sister-in-law’s ideal crafting room. (I am so-o-o-o jealous!) She scrapbooks and quilts so when her daughter moved out, she converted her bedroom into the perfect space. She has a huge styrofoam board (about 1 1/2″, I think) screwed onto the wall and covered with material, making it the perfect place to pin her quilt squares before sewing them. It would also work for your flowers, but I think the placemat idea is prettier. 🙂
That sounds amazing . . . maybe you can feature it in a blog post! Right now my sewing/crafting room is also my office, so it’s stuffed (and my projects often spill over to the dining room table) . . . but I’m thankful to have it! 🙂

Sounds like a great idea. I just finished a way more complicated wall treatment ..see posts for July, but since I don’t do big stuff, I wanted smaller squares. I like the foam core idea since it is way thicker than the cork squares I used. Just stopped by your site and can’t wait to get back to it … when I finish cleaning up my mess from the wall project.
