Once one of my teen-age sons accompanied me to a teacher supply store. The next thing I knew, he was sitting on a bench outside. When I asked him why he left, he said, “Mom! It looks like a rainbow threw up in there!” So, if you’ve ever felt the same way, it’s probably best to move on to another blog now.
Today’s project is a fabric memo board . . . but for holding girly hair things, like:
- flowers,
- lace bow headbands,
- and button hairbands.
Click here for a tutorial (starting with a cardboard box!) and here for a photo of the zebra-print version filled with flower hair clips and pins. I can’t wait to give this one to a special little girl for her birthday! ♥

all is so girly…very cute…~mkg
Thank you, Marilyn!
What a fun project. I should make one to store all my hairclips
They’re super easy! And you can make them any size from tiny to giant, depending on the cardboard you have available. Have fun with yours!
I love it, I might have to make one for my office to add color. Great job
Thank you! Have fun with yours . . . can’t wait to see it!
Oh you got to see this idea

Pretty!!!
I wish i knew that when jacob was a baby lol
Great idea!
When he was 10 Boy#4 delivered papers downtown and once he came out of the boutique with his eyes closed. I asked what had happened and he said “I think pink threw up in there.” Ha!
That’s funny! Your Boy #4 and my Boy #1 must be kindred spirits!
love the colourful fabric
Thank you! Now I’ve made a pillow with the leftover bit . . . post to come!
I think your son has a great way of expressing himself. Cute idea. By the way, I do have about 5 blog posts floating around in my brain and a couple in draft, in case you wondered where I went.
Yes, I’ve missed you!
And yes, my sons always kept (and still keep!) me laughing!
Ha ha – The other day my teenage son said to his twin sister (after she put on perfume), “Your room smells like a hundred butterflies pooped a thousand rainbows.” Aren’t kids the best?
I LOVE that! So creative! What would we do without them to make us laugh!
How cute is that… My daughter would love something like this… I’m putting it on my to do list…
Yay! Can’t wait to see yours . . . and you’re right . . . she’ll love it!
This is so cute! I am definitely going to do a version of this when we re-do my daughter’s room.
It’s so fun and easy and adaptable to any size or fabric or ribbon configuration. I can’t wait to see yours!
